The Big Forkers Through Delhi's Food Soul- Overture Culture Series.

Picture this: Two men standing in Delhi, a city where every street corner tells a story through its aromas. This isn't just about food – it's about how a city speaks through its flavors, connecting people from all walks of life over steaming plates and shared tables.

Meet The Big Forkers- cousins Shashank 'Shanky' Jayakumar and Sid Mewara love food  and alcohol, and they love it with a passion. They relish every chance they get to explore and discover new places. Sid and Shanky are the holy gospel of all things travel, food, and cocktails and this is an account of Delhi through their eyes.

We embarked on this journey in partnership with Royal Challengers American Pride Soda, marking their second collaboration with us following the success of the Texas Food Guide series. Their continued support has been instrumental in bringing this series to life.

Walking through history with The Big Forkers, one bite at a time, you haven't really experienced Delhi until you've joined the crowd at a street food stall, elbows touching strangers as you all reach for that perfect bite at Nihari. It's beautiful chaos – office workers in crisp shirts sharing tables with laborers, all united by the love of good food. These aren't just vendors; they're the original social media influencers of Delhi, building relationships one plate at a time.

The alleys of Old Delhi? They're like living museums of flavor, keeping age-old recipes alive in their ancient pots and pans.

Then there's another Delhi, where tradition meets luxury – one where traditional recipes get dressed up in their finest clothes. Places like INJA, Indian Accent, and Bukhara aren't just restaurants; they're where your grandmother's recipes meet molecular gastronomy. Even Shanky, a purist at heart, couldn't help but smile when he tried INJA's Japanese-Indian fusion dishes.

There is also the side of Delhi that can bring the world on your plate – you can travel the world without leaving the city. From Flora’s kitchen, where she’s been serving authentic Cameroonian food in Delhi 8 years, to the historical Afghan cuisine from the era of invasions- Delhi has welcomed and accommodated it all into its own cuisine. They're proof that Delhi preserves every visitor and every era that has formed the mixed pot it is today.

As the sun sets, the city transforms again. Places like PCO, Sidecar, and Hauz Khas Social come alive. This is where young Delhi lets its hair down, where friendships are forged over craft cocktails, and where the city's modern heart beats the loudest.

What makes Delhi's food scene magical isn't just the food – it's how it brings people together. Whether you're spending ₹50 on street chaat or ₹5000 on a fancy dinner, you're participating in a tradition that's as old as the city itself: the tradition of breaking bread and breaking barriers.
